We promise a warm bed at Hotel Marshfield but we can’t promise warm weather outside this month. That doesn’t mean you should stay indoors, though. Marshfield has a ton of fun outdoor winter activities right in our own backyard!
Feeling a little stir crazy as we enter “the dog days of winter?” On Saturday, February 29 at 8:45 a.m., cure your winter blues with the F.I.R.E. Fitness Cabin Fever Run. Choose to run or walk the 2- or 5-mile distances through downtown Marshfield and our neighborhoods and trails. Register online here or sign-up the day of the race!
While the race starts on 2nd street, it ends in the Wenzel Family Plaza, where the real fun begins. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Marshfield’s Cabin Fever Fest will be the talk of the town. From bonfires to s’mores to beer to hygge activities, be sure not to miss Cabin Fever Fest. Because “Wisconsin’s Always in Season.”
And speaking of the season, this winter has been best friends with the snowfall. Brand new snowmobile trails have opened up all throughout Central Wisconsin. Tear up the snow on the area’s dozens of miles of new paths. Pick up trail maps at any Marshfield Weiler Convenience Store or click here.
Along with snowmobiling, the area’s best spot for skiing, snowboarding, tubing and snowshoeing lives in another place: Powers Bluff Park. Just 14 miles southeast of downtown Marshfield, Powers Bluff is a family favorite for its three downhill skiing trails and four fast-paced tube runs. Open seasonally every weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Powers Bluff is the best way to take advantage of the outdoors in Wisconsin. We’ve got the indoors covered with a hot beverage at Libby McNeill’s when you get back.
